6 days to go! This past Saturday’s ride around here felt like a day in Kansas, it was damp and real windy!

I uncovered a photo of the original medical report on Lou Gehrig  from the archives of the Baseball Hall of Fame. I thought it might be an interesting and quick way  to gain insight into when and how ALS became know as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. The disorder was first diagnosed in 1869 but this letter and the subsequent national attention it brought as well as Lou Gehrig’s immortal speech”..today, I feel like the luckiest man on the face of the earth..”–gave this terrible disease new attention and a new name!daa6578d224d3d0bb7f3cfe64295d79d.jpeg

  1. I rode LA to Boston with CrossRoads in 2009. You are going to have a wonderful experience. I live in Palos Verdes and will be on the pier in MB Sunday morning to see you off. I look forward to following your blog. Stay safe.
